In reply to your memo. SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}15/E16.1.31, we know that R.{Sir Henry Royce} dislikes this device, more so perhaps than the parallel roller freewheels of the Delavaud type.

Moreover the scheme of easy changing outlined cannot be operated we think without shock except by the application of a certain amount of skill, neither does it contribute particularly to the problem of producing a silent box.

We do not therefore think any useful purpose to RR. would be served by testing the car in question.
