Mr. Lidsey from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}

Experiments here shew that the over-oiling
on the EAC. is due to excessive oil on the Valve Mechanism,
being drawn through the inlet valve guides.

We should like you to make a test, once you
have established the oil consumption, by driving small
wooden pegs into the holes of the rockers on the valve
side. The holes at present are just above the head of
the valve and a continuous stream of oil comes through
them and runs down the valve stem.

We should like you to give oil consumptions
with and without the wooden pegs fitted.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
