TO EFC. ) FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) Copy to BJ. " - WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} " - BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL BATTERY IGNITION. R3/M3.5.27. X/652 I still have the impression that we are making very slow progress with increasing the life of the contact points on the battery ignition. As far as I know 7-EX. - the Phantom I had in the south of France - did 10,000 miles without any ignition trouble, and the contact points were not done up, but I am not sure of this. Regarding the 20HP. at present running in France, by chance I learned that the battery ignition failed, and the magneto had to be used before it had complet- ed{J. L. Edwards} 3,000 miles. I do not know what kind of failure this was. R.{Sir Henry Royce} [STAMPED: RECEIVED MAY 6 1927] | ||
