Dear Sirs.

For the attention of Major Searight.

We thank you for your letter of the 26th.inst. and blue prints attached.

We are now handing the gauges over to our Production Dept. with our recommendation that they should be adopted as shewn on these prints.

The only alterations they are likely to make are in the shape of the top pipe cover on the tank and in the head of the pump on the instrument board.

We have suggested that you should be given one of the first production 20 HP. tanks so that you may satisfy yourself as to the accuracy of your installation before you make large quantities. We have also again pointed out that we think it desirable for your representative to check up the gauge on the first completed chassis.

We have been running a 40/50 HP. car in France with one of the original sprengel units in parallel with a pump type unit. The days were very hot and the nights cold. The over-night loss was such that the pump proved itself to be invaluable. We were running at very high speeds which would probably cause an unusual amount of petrol vapour to be introduced into the air bell.

Yours faithfully,
