We received the case containing the front axle springs etc. at 8 o'clock this morning. We sent you a telegram: AXLE AND PARTS ARRIVED, to inform you of this. We hope to get these fitted up to-day. We have got on fairly well. The front drums caused a little trouble. The inside dia. of the dust covers would not allow the brake drums to enter. We therefore after trying everything else, had the leading edge of the brake drums reduced in dia. by 2mm. This overcame the trouble. The position as it stands is. Rear steel brake shoes fitted, bedded in and finished off. Front axle fitted, lean of pivot checked O.K. 4°. New road spring fitted, axle controls being fitted. 3 hydraulic dampers fitted up with new glands. 25 H.P. fan fitted.
We therefore should be running again to-morrow Friday.
