Copy. BY from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}4/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 23.8.27. EAC.7. SPARE WHEEL CARRIER. With reference to BY5/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 17.8.27. the handle at the front was expressly instructed by R.{Sir Henry Royce} after considering the various alternatives. It is not possible to take the present bolt and turn it round, because it evidently could not be got in. Several proposals were made but they were rejected for some defect or other, and the only existing alternative at the present minute is to revert to the 20 HP. Though R.{Sir Henry Royce} was opposed to this at the time, it is possible that if it greatly facilitates the removal of the wheel, or helps us in reducing the size of the pieces, he might reconsider it. In the meanwhile, we think the experiment should go on as arranged, and the Experimental Dept. should report if they find it to be the case that the handle is difficult to operate.
