/3875 Expl: Dept: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LG. 13th. May 1926. The British Lighting & Ignition Co. Ltd., B.L.I.C. Works, Cheston Rd., Aston, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, We are trying to obtain a small lamp fitted with a red glass to use as a warning device on the dashboard of the car. This lamp is to be used in conjunction with an electrical connection made by a thermometer to indicate by means of a red lamp when the water in the cooling system attains a certain temperature. The type of thing we require is almost exactly reproduced on the switch board of Marelli and Bosch equipped cars. It is coupled up so that it shows when the dynamo is charging. We wonder whether you have produced any small lamp of this type fitted with a miniature bulb. Should it be impracticable to obtain a 12-volt bulb of such diminutive dimensions, we could if necessary run the lamp off 4 volts. We should be much obliged if you could let us have any information available on this subject. Yours faithfully, | ||
