S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3875 CWB2/GM/6-5-26. Re:- Water boiling in the radiator. Reference HsS/LG28426. The following information has been obtained from Messrs. Barkers with reference to the device they have fitted to one or two cars. "The idea is that a Thermostat with a platinum point on top is fitted into a body or case. The inside of the top of the body is also fitted with a platinum point adjusted by a thread. A tube or pipe is brazed on to the return pipe of the water circulating cooling system, and the device is placed therein. The two platinum points are connected with the lamp on the dash-board and electrical contact is obtained when the thermostat expands, rises and the two platinum points touch. The device can be adjusted to operate at any degree, but is usually fixed at 87°. It can be supplied and fitted without connecting wires and lamp, and I am informed that the approximate price without these parts would be £5. but apparently no definite charge has yet been fixed."
