We have experimentally tried two sets of tungsten points on magnetos, one lot were obtained from the Independent Lamp & Wire Co. already welded to the screws suitable for Bosch magneto - these we tried on a U.S.A. Bosch magneto. The other lot were fitted by the L.P.S. Co., in this country to the screws of a standard Watford magneto. Both these sets have been run on the bench, but in both cases they have not been at all satisfactory. The failures appear to start by an unusual amount of flashing taking place at the contact. EFC.
