Suction operation would compensate the late timing of this governor for part throttle economy and relieve the driver.

The tyres were then changed to Dunlop Racing 6.50 x 16" at 45 lbs/sq".

Best lap speed 173.791 K.P.H.
107.98 M.P.H.

Maximum oil pressure 43 lbs/sq" 3,750 Max. r.p.m.

Maximum oil temperature 128°c

Rocker cover removed for inspection of rocker and timing gear lubrication. No sign of oil feed.

Extra spring removed from relief valve and pressure as standard 28 lbs/sq". Oil feed to rocker shaft now O.K.

Lap speed checked again 173.791 K.P.H.
at oil temperature 130°c 107.96 M.P.H.

The oil temperature rose very quickly to 130°c.

Proposed vent be cut in front of bottom cowling.
