1379 PER BAG. SECRET. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/R.24.1.39. PROGRAMME FOR PUBLICITY RUN. (1) Sr. commences the road run rehearsal on Thursday morning, the 26th, (weather permitting) and either goes to Italy or Germany according to permission being obtained for Italy, or otherwise. (2) It should be possible to inform the Press Representatives for certain on Monday morning whether we shall be ready for them on Wednesday morning. Sr. is going to do 100 miles in the hour on Montlhéry as a rehearsal before he starts his road run, and if this is completed satisfactorily, it is fairly unlikely that anything will go wrong, so that the Press men could be given warning on Thursday of this week. (3) If we are not allowed to use Italy, we propose to do 100 miles in the hour, or better, on our return to Paris after the road trip. (4) I propose to arrive in Paris on Monday night, try the Chateauroux car before the frame is welded up on Tuesday, drive the second car on the Press run, and try the Chateauroux car after the frame has been welded up on my return.
