Handwritten: x1200 To Sft.{Mr Swift} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}1/HP.12.10.33. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Dn. re 20/25 HP. CLUTCH. Some of the recent clutch trouble is thought to be due to the excessive amount of oil getting on the clutch from the adjacent main bearing. It is thought that the felt ring and oil retainer design as used on the Tank might prove effective, and this is to confirm that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} suggests that the Works convert an engine. The number of the scheme is LeC.3568. The reason for the Works doing this job is because a number of the men are now skilled in fitting and packing the felts, and centralizing the covers with the crankshaft.
