S/W...Wer. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C11/C30.10.33 Re 20/25 h.p. CLUTCH COMPLAINTS. Thanks for your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/KT12.10.33. with report attached. I understand that we have tried this rather drastic treatment of the clutch at Cricklewood with three or four cars, and in each case the treatment has been successful. Presumably this is not a method that we would like to get the ordinary chauffeur to carry out, but I should be glad if you would please consider whether it would not be as well to issue careful instructions as to the application of this treatment, so that they could be issued to selected people, such as the Depots, the Inspecting Engineers, Rob.in Berlin, etc. At the present time it might be possible to deal very promptly with a number of complaints, which these Officials believe at the moment to be only curable at our Repair Departments.
