1133 To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} ROAD TEST OF 2.8 LITRE 4-CYLINDER ENGINE. We have been considering the best method of testing the 2.8 litre engine when it is completed. We have the chassis for the Continental car 14.B.V. rebuilt except for a gearbox and an axle. Ward has a body which he was building for 2.R.2. which will fit on this chassis, and is almost completed. If we could utilise a gearbox and axle off one of the cars which are stored we could complete the car. We would rather do this than pull one of our existing cars to pieces which represent prototypes. We should like an axle of the semi-floating type, i.e, off the Continental car as this is the type on which we require the maximum amount of experiance, and ofwhich we are very short on our own experimental cars.
