Dear Sirs,

In answer to your letter of the 26th inst., concerning the manufacture of R.R.Bentley instruments, we are very sorry indeed to note you are being inconvenienced in consequence of our inability to effect despatch of any of this equipment.

We understand from our Technical Department, however, that there is still some little doubt as to the correct revs to be employed for the instruments as the basis was 810 revs, but one or two of these instruments have been returned to us for exchange to 797 revs. Therefore, no cliches have yet been prepared for the job and the instruments which have been despatched to you have had engraved dials: furthermore, we are still not certain whether you require 5% flatter to 60.m.p.h and 6.5% up to 100 m.p.h embodied in the printing of the dial scale.

You may be assured that as far as the building of the instruments is concerned we are as far ahead as possible, and we shall esteem it a favour if you will kindly let us have your reply to the points raised above.

Yours faithfully,

for S.SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES)
