Front Brake Balancer - Girling Brakes - Bentley III.

We send herewith the front brake balancing mechanism and idler levers for Girling Brakes on Bentley III, shown on N.Sch.4978.

We show an alternative construction for the balancing mechanism and we have asked HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} to give us the relative costs, when a decision will be made as to which design should be used.

The idler lever on the frame is attached by means of the main front suspension bolts.

The pull rod from the servo balancer lever will need an idler lever on the engine in order to enable it to pass under the clutch casing and the starter motor, and over the oil pump which is on the near side of this engine. This idler lever will be done in conjunction with the servo balance lever and consideration of the pull rod to the front brake balance lever will be given when designing the oil pump.
