For the attention of Mr. Martindale.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to the visit paid to your works by our Mr. A.E. Pearce, and the writer, we have asked our Costs Department to submit prices for brake drums to your drawings Nos.G.84797 and 8.

We have prepared drawings showing the form the rough castings will take, and a copy of these will be sent along with the quotation by our Sales Department.

We would like to confirm that it was agreed to thicken up the conical portion at the back of the drum, and also the bolting flange to .200" and to delete the undercut shown at the inner end of the brake shoe lining path, and also to merge the ground portion nicely into the coned back with a .150" radius.

We understand also, that you would like to consider the type of cast brake drum wherein it is possible to cast out the cooling fins, which as at present indicated on your drawings Nos.G.84797 and 8 is not possible.
