Re 260 HP Mercedes Engine.
Thank you for your report on the 260 HP German Mercedes engine. Since this engine appears heavy, roughly 3.7 lbs. per HP, it does not show any very great advance.
We did not notice any remark in your report as to the speed this engine was intended to run at, so cannot work out the mean pressure or whether the propeller is likely to have good efficiency.

I have seen Cm. Briggs and he explained how they have (in the above engine) arranged the valve mechanism to avoid oil leaks, this is a decided interesting feature. FHR
