COPY. Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Mr. Lidsey. AJL/Crn28.11.24. We thank you for your letter of the 26th.inst., with enclosure. The following is as far as we can estimate a fair average weekly expenditure covering hotel bills, etc :- (1) Man in hotel for all meals (Average daily cost). Room. Frs.12.15 Bkfst. " 2.- Lunch. " 9.- Dinner. " 9.- ------- Fcs.32.15 10%..... 3.25 ------- Fcs.35.40 Man out for breakfast and dinner (Average daily cost. Room. Fcs. 12.15 Bkfst. " 10.- Lunch " 9.- Dinner " 15.- ------- Fcs. 46.15 10%..... 4.65 ------- Fcs. 50.80 Average daily cost per man = Fcs. 43.10 " weekly " " " = Fcs. 301.70 " " " " " at Fcs. 87.- to £. = £3. 9. 2½d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} When one car is running, two men are out for breakfast every day, and invariably two for dinner. The increased cost for breakfast outside is explained by a man requiring more than just coffee and rolls when getting up at 4 a.m. We find that we always have to pay more for meals taken outside the Hotel. If men are absent for meals from the Hotel, no charge is made. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AJL. | ||
