1381? W/S. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} C. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}13/R.2.12.38. MINUTES - Cxl/KW.24.11.38. With reference to Cxl/KW.24.11.38., Page 3, Paragraph re Paulin Bentley. We do not understand why Sales' officials did not try the car if they wanted to, as it went to Conduit Street for this special purpose, and was reported on in Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}10/E26.9.38. Page 6. Section 10. Last paragraph should read:- "It is intended to try out a B.V with an 8-cyl. "engine with a view to it being available for the "Continental car at a later date." Page 7. Section 5. Paragraph I should read:- "It was agreed to proceed with six 8-cyl.engines "two of which should be of aluminium construction." Page 8. General. "Programme of further development" should read:- "The Wraith Replacement will be produced originally "with a 4 1/4-litre 6-cyl. engine, as this is the only "unit available at present". "The chassis is arranged so that it can be fitted with "any other units of the Rationalised Programme at a "subsequent date should it be desired to do this." It should be emphasised that the 5-litre 6-cyl. engine has not yet been instructed, and is likely to require a good deal of development - Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/R.26.10.38 - i.e., we regard it as the last of the four engines projected in the Rationalised Programme. Therefore, we should not like to couple it with the Wraith Replacement until more is known about it. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
