RAY GRY{Shadwell Grylls} 1381 Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}16/B211738 - 1 Minutes of Meeting at Derby, Tuesday 20th December 1938 I. Body designs for further experimental cars. 1. Coupe design FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}331 for chassis 12-B-IV. This will form the experimental body with the non-fixed roof for the B.V. 2. Continental body with of the modified Paulin type. Design PD.333 for chassis 14-B-IV. It was agreed that this body should be made in France but that production bodies would have to be made in England but not necessarily at Park Ward's if at that date they were too full up with other work. Suggested coachbuilders were Gurney Nutting and Young of Bromley but this to be discussed again before decision is taken. 3. A small dimensioned body for B.V. Design No.PD.327. Body for chassis 11-B-V.{VIENNA} The body generally conforms to standard but is an inch lower. The wings are special as on the Paulin. This chassis to be used to test the 8-cylinder engine. 4. A body with larger capacity to be fitted to a chassis with an 8-cylinder engine in order to give the type of performance which the Lagonda Company are obtaining with similar body accommodation. The chassis will be a B.50 frame. Design No.325 but no chassis yet allotted. II. Experimental bodies for Wraith. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} explained the reasons for having stopped production bodies being built in all-metal. A body of this form is being built for a new chassis for Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} - the same design as WXA-1 and it is important that the next experimental body should be all-metal so that we can have experience. We want to have all-metal bodies for Wraiths in order to obtain weight-saving, economy in manufacture, and reduced service charges. III. B.V. Production bodies. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} said that Park Ward's had informed him that, in order to give production bodies by the date required, it was necessary for them to have finality of chassis and body | ||
