It will be noted that the slots are to be punched into the Stampings instead of being milled out after the core has been assembled. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} is very much of the opinion that these Armature Stampings should be produced in our own works and not bought outside.

The Sheets should be bought either in Soft Swedish Iron or Low Hysterisis Steel. With punched slots we shall not of course require Mica Plates between each Stamping. The Sheets before being stamped should be japaned.

For the first experimental models it is possible that you may prefer to have milled slots, if so, kindly let us know and we will arrange accordingly, or better still, we would like you to discuss the whole matter with BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}
