BY c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X5060 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}4/H21.9.27. re. 20-HP. Valve Spring Breakage. I attach herewith Valve Spring found broken on a new 20-HP. car just recently delivered to the customer. The customer complained about this engine not running satisfactorily after he had been using it for a short time, and our tester reports that the spring was taken off No. 6 inlet valve and found in this condition and replaced. This is not a common occurrence on 20-HP. cars, but a short time ago you were rather anxious to know of any experience we had in this direction, in view of this wire being similar to that used for the Condor Valve springs with which we are now having considerable trouble.
