Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}12/L41214. x726 Re Instruction Book.- Lubrication of Universal Joint. Na.{Mr Nadin} 4-12-14. Your memo Na{Mr Nadin}/S7/LG31214. My opinion about the lubrication of this joint is that monthly is quite often enough to carry this out. Our experimental cars I am sure do not get lubricated as often as this and we have never experienced any trouble due to the infrequent oiling. With reference to the seized joints which Mr Plåtford mentions, is he sure that these seized joints were lubricated regularly every month; if they were I should say there was something wrong with the fit of the bushes, which caused the seizure and not lack of lubrication. It is rather unreasonable to expect a man to be constantly squirting oil in this joint every week or 500 miles, for instance 500 miles are often covered in two days.
