To Sp.{Mr Spinney} from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Re Shock absorbers and Body Makers' Brackets. With reference to Sp{Mr Spinney}4/DW26.2.20, we are now arranging for the Coachbuilders' Drawings to indicate the features of the shock absorbers which affect body fitting, wing brackets and luggage grids etc. We agree that this is necessary but it has been omitted to date as the shock absorbers are not standard. I was under the impression that instructions had been issued for some time regarding where the holes may be drilled for the luggage grids etc. but if this is not so will Mr. Day please prepare such instructions. The modifications to the frame referred to in your last paragraph are under consideration but the matter has not yet progressed very far, and in any case will not come in as standard for a very long time.
