Ignition failure and brake issues, including servo vibration, on a New Phantom car.

On the New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I car here, the battery ignition failed on one plug through oil. After cleaning the whole set the engine was remarkably better. BRAKES. After the car standing in the garage for some time the brakes appear to stick on. This has disappeared but when first used a curious vibration occurred, which I concluded must have been a servo jagger, similar to a clutch jagger. This occurred once severely, and on a few other occasions it was just detectable. It has now disappeared. I conclude it must be due to the condition of the friction surfaces in the servo. The ferodo used on xx these brakes should be carefully chosen, having the characteristic of the friction being as nearly the same as possible at rest, in slow motion, and in fast motion. This co-efficient should be carefully obtained for each batch of material. Also carefully see if it is affected by moist air or water. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
