E.7.C. X4041. Ref: NO. WE51. Date 8-10-30 XNOS. 4041 Experiments with standard contact breaker To improve the working condition and life of the tungsten points using various capacity condensers. It was observed that the contact points removed from the battery ignition distributor off 24 EX after a 10000 mile test did not show any oxidation of the screw point surface as is usually found on standard distributors. Upon examination it was found that the only difference from standard on the distributor was the capacity of the condenser. This was found to be .23 micro-farads, i.e. .045 m.f. below the lowest production specification limit. This condenser was removed from the distributor unit and fitted to a unit on which the screw point was badly oxidized during previous standard tests. The distributor was | ||
