re 20/25 H.P.PETROL CONSUMPTION
--------------------

We are now receiving complaints from customers who have recently taken delivery of new cars, to the effect that the above is very unsatisfactory - 12 to 13 m.p.g. only being obtained.

In discussing the matter with Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} I understand it has been receiving considerable attention, and improvements have been effected. It is therefore necessary that you should arrange for instructions to be issued so that a Depot Sheet can be circulated, in order that attention can be given to the carburetter to overcome this complaint.

In the meantime we are able to advise customers that the matter is having our serious attention, and we hope to advise them further on this matter in due course.

The two cases we have had to date, to which I should be glad if Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} would give attention as soon as instructions are received as above, are as follows .-

(1) GFE-25.- H.M.Hampson Esq.
Complaint received through W.Arnold, our agent in Manchester.

(2) GWE-64.- Gordon Lang Esq.
Complaint received through Messrs.Mann Egerton & Co.Ltd.,Norwich.
