Reply to be addressed to John Marston Limited for the attention of CSS/FS. {F. Steele} FROM JOHN MARSTON LIMITED, WOLVERHAMPTON. 27th June, 1939. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, DERBY. For the attention of Mr. Edwards. Dear Sirs, Referring to your letter of the 22nd. instant we would say that the Shutters for Bentley V. {VIENNA} Radiators for production will be entirely made off tools and will therefore be accurately to drawing as regards section/etc., - as regards the Experimental Radiators which have been supplied to you we are not prepared to guarantee that these are accurately to drawing since to some extent they have been hand finished. If you decide that you require the turnover on the front edge of the shutter vanes/folded back in a similar manner to the rear edge this could be done without any difficulty and with a small tool alteration. However as we are now producing vanes off the present tools in readiness for the 36 Bentley V. {VIENNA} Radiators which you require in July it will be necessary to decide on this change very quickly if you require it, and further it will not be possible to bring in this change on the first few radiators. Referring to the last paragraph of your letter we note that you are sending an official order for the dummy shutter set for Ripple and confirm that only one Ripple radiator has been ordered to date. Yours faithfully, C.S. STEADMAN. DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER. Handwritten note on left: One a {Mr Adams} /d. | ||
