Carburetter. ------------------------- We should like to have tests made with the controls set so as to allow for some range to weaken off the carburetter. This can be done by adjusting the present needle down so that the normal position becomes weak. We realise that the weakening off effect is only 10% at high speeds of the alteration at low speeds, but we think this is all to the good as when running in the weak position the mixture will strengthen up for any sudden demand on acceleration. You may find, of course, it is not possible to weaken off to any useful extent without uncovering a flat spot between the changeover of the jets. If however the scheme is at all practicable it does provide the possibility of fitting a mixture control to enable customers who like this sort of thing to run weak. We have another scheme of a more automatic nature for improving the economy of this carburetter, but it requires some structural alteration. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
