Bentley - Bumper Bar.

Herewith is N. Sch.4301, showing modifications to the bumper bar and pressings following an inspection of the first sample made by Wilmot Breedon.

The modifications are:-

(1) Present die-cast distance piece between springs and silent bloc bush is replaced by a steel forging with pad extended either side so as to enclose the slots in the springs. A plate of corresponding size is underneath the springs.

(2) The supporting pillar has been slightly modified in shape.

(3) There is a flute along the centre of the bumper bar which can extend right round the weight carrying ends.

(4) A method of carrying the number-plate is shewn, but this is only an experiment and is not intended to be connected with the other modification shown above.

Wilmot Breedon would like details as quickly as possible.
