-2- Re./WJ.16.3.32. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} PETROL PUMP. The petrol pump on 19-EX. car failed twice with F'W. on the mountain passes. This was partly due to petrol boiling and producing vapour locks (precautions had been taken to run the petrol line in the coolest position) also the failure could partly be attributed to the gradient and also the altitude effect decreasing the efficiency. We have known all along that the pump is really not big enough. We are only using the same size pump as is used on the Chevrolet. A larger pump has been instructed and we expect it to be completed in a few weeks. We have had several petrol pump failures and when they occur it means that the car is absolutely stranded. The R.R. petrol pump is gradually getting better and we think that when we have all the latest modifications it may prove to be entirely satisfactory, but at the present time, until we have tested out one of the latest pumps we recommend that we stick to the vacuum pump and the autovac. GOVERNOR. 19-EX. car has been running without the governor and with a throttle adjusted for slow running. Under these conditions there have been no complaints of explosions in the silencer. We recommend that we do without the governor when we adopt the new carburetter. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
