87080. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}3/KT.16.8.32. Comparative consumption tests taken with 19-EX, semo-expanding carburetter, 5.25 to 1 compression ratio, 12 X 41 axle ratio, 7" X 19" wheels; and 25-EX, present standard carburetter, 11 X 41 axle ratio, 7" X 20" wheels, and 5 to 1 compression ratio. The two cars ran together a distance of 112 miles. 19-EX with carburetter normal, 25-EX half distance carburetter normal, remainder - control two notches weak. High speeds, low speeds, accelerations, were carried out during the run. The amount of petrol used on each car was identical, viz - 11 gallons, giving a consumption of 10.18 m.p.g. G.W.H. | ||
