- 11 - LUCAS LATEST TYPE HEAD LAMPS With a 40 watt bulb the beam of light gives a clear view for 100 meters and safe high speeds can be indulged in. The wiring terminals inside the lamps are very poor. The wire is bared and pushed through a hole with a spring loaded washer to hold it. The sharp edge of the washer eventually cuts through the wire. The dipping connection is a grub screw which also cuts through the wire. There should be a definate support for the wires to stop them floping about. When the positive wire breaks it blows the fuse for both lamps. BATTERY This has been kept fully charged. The loss of water during the mileage was 0.6 pints. ENOTS PETROL FILTER There being no petrol shortage it was not necessary to clean the filter. Upon examination however we found the filter plates covered with fluff and sand. A quantity was also at the bottom of the container, proving the efficiency of the filters. WING STAYS LOP.FB.301. We do not consider these to be of sufficient strengthh. We have had considerable trouble with them breaking across the bolt holes. - - - - - - - Weight of car 1 Ton 11 cwt. 1 Qr. 9 lbs Average Petrol Cons. 14.53 M.P.G. Average Oil Cons. 732.0 M.P.G. | ||
