- 10 - STOP LAMP SWITCH LOP.DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}419.R.R. SCH.449. This is a really good job. We are very pleased to get rid of the Butler switch. To make it complete a fool proof rear stop lamp is required. The Butler stop lamp. The lamp socket and reflector became loose, a better protection is needed for the cable as it is in a position to receive all loose stones thrown up by the wheels. IGNITION DISTRIBUTOR AND COIL LOP.DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}79. AND LOP.D.72503. The distributor contact points are in a good condition. The gap had decreased to .012 from .015 by slight wear of the cam pad and wear of the points. No wear or looseness of the distributor is noticeable. No missfires have been attributed to the coil. ELECTRICAL PETROL PUMPS LOP.DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}464. Latest type with fuses fitted. The supply of Petrol has been adequate for all sustained high speeds. The pumps are quieter and no trouble has occurred during the mileage. The pumps have however become faulty standing for two days. They refused to pump and when tapped were very sluggish in action. There was considerable sparking at the contacts. Upon examination it would appear that the ball valves had become sluggish with the benzol mixture. DIPPING LIGHT CONTROL We prefer the two lamps to be dipped. They give a broader beam of light which is valuable on dark roads, which have no prominent edging. We are not partial to the dipping control lever on the steering column, many times is the throttle lever grasped in mistake, and for medium speeds one does not care to drive with one hand, and not be prepared for emergencies. The foot switch is preferable. | ||
