Re: Chassis 25-WJ - Paris Trials Car We have modified the shock absorbers of this car by fitting thinner washers to the H.P. valve cap. I cannot give you the actual poundage, but the washers thicknesses are as follows:- N/S Rear: Fitted: H.P. .020" " L.P. .010" Removed: H.P. .120" " L.P. .040" O/S Rear Fitted: H.P. .020" " x L.P. .120" Removed: H.P. .040" " L.P. .040" N/S Front: Fitted: H.P. .020" " L.P. .010" Removed: H.P. .075" " L.P. .020" O/S Front Fitted: H.P. .020" " L.P. .010" Removed: H.P. .075" " L.P..020" With a .010" washer fitted to L.P. valve of o/s rear shock-absorber, we found it almost impossible to move the arm. We therefore replaced the original washer. The riding in the rear compartment is much improved at all speeds, this is confirmed by our Sales Dept. The driver's seat position is noticeably harder, but this is not so important, and if we decrease the resistance in the front shock-absorbers, I think we shall upset the riding in the rear compartment. The present setting is the best compromise. Ps. P.S.- We did not find it necessary or advisable to fit the 2 BA washers as indicated in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RmS/MJ.17/1/30. | ||
