Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Na{Mr Nadin}/S12/LG1012131 Kindly note the following suggestions are being made, and we should like your remarks on the same. 1. That gear oil be used instead of graphite grease for the spring shackles and water pump. 2. Re adjustment of rear brakes - We note that you consider no fixed time must be given for doing this, but we think, to be in accordance with all the other matter in the book, it is essential, as every operation of adjustment and lubrication is under some heading or other, and if the adjustment of brakes is put separately, not only will it be more difficult to find, but also liable to be overlooked. We shall be glad if you will reconsider this, and state a time or mileage after which the brakes would require adjustment. 3. Treatment of fan and dynamo belt as given on page 18 is objected to by Mr. Platford on the grounds that if soaked in oil the belt would slip. We shall be glad if you will kindly confirm this.
