Huckerby}28.1.38. PHANTOM III BIG END BEARINGS IN AC.6 MATERIAL. Will you please supply the Paris depot with a set of big end bearing halves complete with Hall's AC.6 shells and dowels (Ex.28937/8) for their fitting to a customer's car 3.AZ.140. When these are machined it should be assumed that the crank is of normal dimensions, that is, give the Halls metal bush .0025 clearance and normal dimension for the outside whitemetal face. We understand that the bearing halves should fit the existing rods in the car without having to supply connecting rods complete. Will you please let us know quickly, or write direct to Paris of any fitting points that should be watched when new bearing halves are fitted to old rods.
