With reference to Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}7/M2.3.20, I am afraid Shock Absorbers are not yet definitely through the experimental stages. As you know, we have, as the result of experiments, been compelled to alter the square fitting for the shock absorber lever to one having taper serrations, and there is also a difficulty with the lubricator fouling the brake covers and brackets. Beyond this Mr. Hives is not yet satisfied regarding the silence of these shock absorbers under certain conditions, and when we were with Mr. Royce last week he directed certain experiments to be carried out. I do not think Mr. Hives has yet completed his experiments in this direction. Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} | ||
