RE. FIRST 15 BENTLEYS.

We wish to add to our recommendations regarding the modifications required to these chassis, that new starter motors should be fitted. The old type starter motors which are fitted to these chassis are the ordinary standard 20/25 type and are very poor in respect to starting performance cold.

We recommend therefore, that we fit to these 15 chassis the up-to-date Bentley standard starter motors with the longer drive and the new clutch casing to suit this drive.

It is understood that no crankcase modification is required to accomodate these new motors.

The new design motor to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}Sch.508 referred to in Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ.27.1.34., is a still further improvement in the experimental stage.

When the old motors are removed the major parts can be used up on production so that there will be little waste.
