WST 8/6/34. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Seeme urgent Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}12/T6.2.34. #5 RE. FIRST 15 BENTLEYS When we were discussing the modifications which we are now carrying out to these cars, we considered the question of the improved starter motor. GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} was of the opinion that the crankcases on the first 15 Bentleys would not permit of the improved starter motor being used. Barkers Salesman who brought B.21.AE to the Works yesterday complained of the inadequacy of the starter motor at low temperatures. We have gone carefully into the matter and it would seem that we can use the improved starter motor. Will you please give this question consideration and say whether we should change the starter motors when the other modifications are carried out. We have at the moment three of the cars in for modification and we shall be glad of an early decision. | ||
