on the maximum economy end of the range, which will put the exhaust valve temperatures up considerably.
It is sometimes found that due to wear of the rockers the leverage gets somewhat increased. You might check the lift of the valves which should be .32". If more than this you might, with advantage, reduce it, and, in fact, we believe that .3" lift gives no loss in power, and it would, of course, reduce the striking velocity of the valve on the seat.
Finally, it might be worth trying a radius of .5" joining the head to stem, assuming that your present failures occur on the stem. This will give rather more flexibility of the head.
