Ferodo S.5806.

We are fitting this material to new cars, in place of P.M.A. because of its high wear resistance and because it does not easily score Millenite. We have had a little trouble with it as when new it can expand a small amount, and so cause seizure when it is first heated.

We have insured that all future supplies will be free from this trouble, but any Ph.III cars relined with existing stocks, notably SS{S. Smith}-X, should be sent out of the shop with all four brake adjusters slacked back 2 complete turns.

The first tester to take the car on the road after relining must heat up the brakes thoroughly. When the drums are cool, the brakes can then be adjusted normally.
