- 2 - Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/ML.13.3.40. You will therefore note that since your first statement that you were anxious to get in touch with development on the chassis side, and to do this would be willing to straighten out the pattern situation, three and a half months have elapsed and during this period a pattern which was 70% finished in November, as far as we know has made no other progress than to completely disappear. We must say that this appears to us to be an intolerable position and we would be glad if you would let us know (a) Whether any work at all has been done on these patterns. (b) Where they are now. (c) A firm date when we may expect them in Derby. Since writing the above we have received your Vs{J. Vickers}/C.4/MF.12.3.40 asking for E.B.3950, which is part of the 6-cylinder cast-iron pattern, to be sent to Coventry. It is again necessary to emphasize that, before doing anything further, we want all the car patterns that are not at Derby to be returned here at once so that we can straighten out the present mess.
