EASY CHANGE GEARS ETC.
--------------------

We have now got 14-EX. car fitted up with the Maybach jaws, and it is working sufficiently well for us to demonstrate the Maybach type of easy change.

This does not mean that we have got a perfect scheme, we still have all the disadvantages due to the fact of having the neutral position. The scheme on 14-EX. now could be used to demonstrate the Maybach clutch and we are doubtful whether it is worth while considering buying a Maybach gearbox.

So far Sales have not had an opportunity of trying any Maybach scheme and it would be as well for them to understand what is consists of.

The proposal is that we meet you at Bignall's Corner either Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and Hdy{William Hardy} will come up from N.W. so that they could be present at the discussion. It is also our intention to try and arrange to have a Daimler car fitted with the easy change and fluid flywheel, so that we can try it at the same time.

It is necessary for all to be aware of how far our competitors have got. In our opinion the Daimler results are better than any other scheme and therefore we should like you to try it.
