With reference to RL/M2.3.31. para. 2., we think there are definite possibilities in the use of Salerni rings with jaws backed off as in the Maybach coupling. We will investigate the design of this combination. In the meantime we are sending through particulars of internal mesh teeth on the line of those for P. 2. top gear. The Chrysler gearbox referred to in para. 4. had Maybach jaws hand controlled with neutral but it now appears that the scheme never got beyond the experimental stage.
