EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. -2- Expl. No. REF. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG27. 8.25.

(1) Silver Ghost - 40/50 HP.
Pressure feed, petrol filter only in tank.

(2) 4-wheel brake 40/50 HP.
Vacuum feed, petrol filter only in tank.

(3) Original 20 HP.
Fine monel cloth filter in tank and in carburetter.
There were several complaints from which it was
assumed that the carburetter filter had been stopped
up, but afterwards however, it was proved that it
was most probably an air lock.

(4) 20 HP. car.
Monel cloth in rear tank - 160 mesh filter.

(5) E.A.C.
Fine gauze filter in the tank and in carburetter.

(6) E.A.C.
Fine gauze filter in tank, coarse filter in
carburetter.

(7) 20 HP.
Fine filter in tank, coarse filter in carburetter.

As we have already stated, we do not have trouble
with dirt in the petrol. We take no special precautions as regard
straining the petrol. We have never yet seen or heard any
reliable information as regards this particular complaint that
would enable us to judge whether the filter in the carburetter,
either fine or coarse, is going to overcome the trouble.
