We must ask you to refer to your files very thoroughly on this matter, and to carry your investigations to when the car was delivered to Mr. Whiteley.

We have nothing in our files which goesfurther back than when the car was recently here, but as you know our correspondence used to be filed by "S".

We recollect, however, that there was a serious complaint of steering wobble at Page St.{Capt. P. R. Strong}, and we think in the summer of 1913.

It was dealt with at the time, and we have no news of the car between then and now.

So for a year and a half it must have been sufficiently satisfactory not to need our attention.

Your files will show you that when the car was last here it had 7" Palmers and we had endless difficulty and tried every conceivable means to cure the wobble. In fact, we only cured it by departing altogether from standard pivot lean.
