-2- know to fit a new type side steering tube with which you have since supplied us; but we do not hesitate to say that we fear we may bring on the wobble again when we return to standard pivot lean with the new tube. The matter is wrapped up entirely to our mind in the question of 6" and 7" Palmer tires, especially the latter. There is no doubt they are too heavy for our steering, and the question therefore arises whether we are to guarantee our steering to be satisfactory with whatever fads in the way of tires a customer likes to put on. If we do, then we must be prepared to go to an infinity of trouble, as in this case, and incur heavy expense just because a customer decides to fit extravagant tires. The question therefore is one of Policy, and Mr. Johnson should decide. The same question arose in the case of Sir E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Stern, and we quite often work for may hours on low speed wobble jobs with Palmer tires.
