Rear axle arrangements to cover the complete range of senior cars have been prepared and are as follows:- RG.{Mr Rowledge}1647 (Sht.1) - Rear axle arrangement as fitted to Ripplet 2-R-2. This drawing covers the narrow track experimental and development models. RG.{Mr Rowledge}1647 (Sht.2) - Rear axle arrangement as fitted to Silver Phantom wide track experimental and development cars are covered by this drawing. Both these arrangements incorporate welded-on spring seats and "New Departure" self-seal hub bearings. Spring type brake steadies to GCD.1444 have been incorporated with brakes to experimental B.V. LOP. GB.4793 to form new LOP's. These steadies were prepared for Production B.V. in the first instance and a new detail RG.{Mr Rowledge}1876 was found to be necessary for the lower one. Cornercroft 'ACE' wheel discs have been fitted to all wheels. Details of the parts of these discs have been prepared in conjunction with a Cornercroft arrangement T.3578 and PD.485. Cast iron brake drums with thin end plates have been fitted. The bevel crown wheel is carried by one taper roller and one plain roller bearing to PL.123. The end plates to centre casing incorporate oil drain holes and have no oil seals fitted. These axles are therefore provided with the increase in cooling area due to the axle tubes. Other arrangements are as follows :- RG.{Mr Rowledge}1736 (Sht.1) - This arrangement covers the following production models, which are all of narrow track, Ripplet, Bentley 6, Comet, Corniche 60 & 80.
